The Inner Game of Leadership

We know that leadership effectiveness is largely dependent on the leader’s mindfulness, state of mind, and inner storytelling. In other words, a leader’s “inner game runs the outer game.” Tolstoy said it best – “Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” Therefore, the most effective leaders have learned and understand that all change starts with the leader changing him or herself first. In this interactive workshop, USPAACC CEOs and corporate executives get to:

  • explore the power of their personal stories,
  • examine the impact of leader intention,
  • consider their own internal landscape and
  • discover leadership growth options.

Proposing Leadership and Management & Leading Change

Lying squarely in the intersection of the individual and the situation, leadership could be vexing for practitioners. This program examines the concept and practice of leadership from an individual perspective, with special attention on how leaders' behavior is interpreted by, and impacts, others. This perspective provides the foundation to consider the dynamics underlying resistance to change, and the central levers for successful change leadership.
