Washington, DC -(April 23, 2024)–The US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation (USPAACC) is pleased to announce that it has received a large number of applicants for the Denny’s Hungry for Education (HFE) scholarship program. The HFE program, an initiative to promote education and bring communities together, has awarded more than $340,000 in scholarships to deserving high school and college students throughout the United States and Puerto Rico since 2011.
Recently I signed the ByBlack x USPAACC Fast Track partnership with U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. (USBC) President Ron Busby Sr. This strategic partnership aims to increase the benefits of minority supplier certifications and represents a significant step forward in advancing economic opportunities and empowerment for diverse businesses across the United States.
USPAACC has been hard at work delivering impactful business development programs and opportunities for our members. As we begin our work again in 2024, we would like to share some of USPAACC’s highlights and successes from 2023.
The Small Business Administration’s (SBA) American Rescue Plan-funded Small Business Community Navigators Pilot Program is the largest-ever dedicated federal investment in navigator services for small businesses. Watch our video showing the impact of our work at the ground level.
Fanny Crystal Jewelry proudly serves the Brooklyn Chinatown community. The owners, Fanny and Tony Tong, are immigrants who came to the United States to pursue their American Dream. However, when the pandemic hit, Fanny Crystal Jewelry was forced to close, resulting in a loss of income. Thankfully, they found assistance through the Community Navigator Pilot Program (CNPP), operated by USPAACC’s Spoke Universal Processing in New York City. The CNPP is a U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) program that helps small businesses in underserved communities access grants, loans, and other assistance to emerge stronger from the pandemic.
The pandemic must be over, because traffic has returned to Capitol Hill. And USPAACC’s CEO,Susan Au Allen & Alyn Hadar, Public Affairs Specialist (Advocacy), joined the throngs of folks from interest groups, lobbyists, and individuals who walked the halls of Congress trying to convince Representatives and Senators that their issues are worth supporting.
Susan Au Allen, CEO of the US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation (USPAACC), was honored with the “Beacon of Inspiration Award” by the World Journal and Scholarship America at the 18th Greater New York Chinese Education Foundation Scholarship Award Ceremony on July 7.
